New Beginning.

Assalamualaikum and greetings.

Ahmad Safwan, English teacher. Click.

That's how I'm gonna introduce myself from this day onward. I have been known as a timid, low self-esteem kinda guy, but hey, new is always better. In most cases, I found that to be true.

I used to love and be very good in blogging. Back in 2006 I guess, the emergencyatroomc.blogspot.com was quite a hit, at least I had more than 5 avid readers at that time and my blog posts were mostly rants and whines, nothing sort of political, religious and...yeah, educational.

One year has passed and now I'm in the second year of my teaching career and I have been through the highs and a lot low moments, which has changed my perspective in many aspects extensively. I have met different types of people, from different ranks, believes and perspective. Learnt a lot as a teacher and as a warden; yeah, I'm a father of 210 boys and girls at the hostel and I guess I have grown a lot older than my age. The way I talk, joke, eat and entertain myself.

Regardless, there are parts of still remain intact and unchanged. For example, my passion in basketball has not changed at all and in fact, I spread the love to my boys. I could still recall the first day I put on my shoes and started to bounce the ball off the floor to the school's sports complex. All the kids were playing football, badminton and rugby. Then, I started shooting the hoops, showing off some of my ankle-breaking skills and breaking off the rim by dunking like LeBron. Haha, maybe I exaggerated that part but you get my point, don't you? All the kids were like "Who's this guy? I wanna be like him someday! What is he doing, alone?" Then, the number just started growing; now we can always play full court 5x5 every single day!

Yeah it's not a dunk, but he did not even know how to perform the layup; he would just dribble the ball across the whole court like crazy, and unknowingly he would stop and shoot the ball like a girl shooting the netball, hehe

Life's like a basketball game; you have to dribble through the obstacles and you've got to take the risk; either you go through or you fall. If you go through, you must go all the way and finish the rim in style. If you fall, pick yourself back up and try again. You can't be embarrassed for that one fall because that's life. Furthermore, you know there's gonna be someone better and faster than you. So, you have to up the ante, put yourself into challenge and do whatever it takes to beat up that challenge.

In order to accomplish that, you have to stay calm, keep yourself motivated and positive. There's always gonna be ups and downs; that's the cycle of life. If Plan A fails, there are Plan B, C and another 23 more letters you could come up with.

God, this always happens to me; in the middle of writing something, when the brain is overflowing with ideas, all of sudden it just got blanked. Will continue writing next time, happy reading!
